Welcome to Ulverston Parish Church
Whether you are new to Ulverston or new to faith, simply curious or a life-long follower of Jesus, we would love to welcome you to UPC!
There are a number of opportunities for you to join with us during the week for a time to worship and pray together.

Sunday 8:30am Service
We love the quiet, contemplative tradition of Christian worship. Join us on Sundays at 8.30 for a reflective service of Holy Communion or Morning Prayer using Anglican ‘Common Worship’ booklets with organ-led hymns.
Sunday 10:30am Service
A contemporary service of Holy Communion, Morning Prayer or All-Age ‘Breakfast
Church’. Junior Church runs alongside Holy Communion and Morning Prayer
services. There is a time for fellowship after each service when refreshments are
served.
A traditional service using the Book of Common Prayer, held on the second and
fourth Sunday of the month, usually at 3pm.
Sunday 6:00pm Cafe Church
A relaxed, informal space to encounter God, worship, pray, minister and fellowship.
Thursday 10:00am Church, Coffee and Chat
A formal service in the north aisle of the church, using books, followed by a time of
fellowship.
Wednesday 8:15am Prayer and Pastry
An opportunity to bring our prayers to God and share breakfast together in the north
aisle.
Who We Are
Our vision at UPC and St John’s is to be a vibrant and growing church that exists to bring Ulverston to life. We seek to achieve this by being people with Jesus at the centre, guided by God’s Word and Spirit, living out resurrection life – the kind of life Jesus lived. We want everyone in our town and surrounding area to know and experience the love of God, and see ourselves as ‘a movement not a monument’; alive and active, living our faith, growing in our relationship with God and serving our community. The church family itself is diverse and multigenerational, loving and supporting each other through life’s joys and challenges.
In sum:
- Founded on a belief in one God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; in the unique and universal Lordship of Jesus Christ, the Son of God; and in the authority of Scripture, with a broadly charismatic evangelical approach to worship.
- A member of the New Wine Network
- A welcoming and friendly church.
- A parish that embraces a variety of worship styles.
- A training parish with a strong track record of supporting curacies and sending workers into full-time ministry.
